The Surfin Tarifa spot is located at Los Lances South Beach, the town-side stretch of Tarifa. The beach extends for about 2.6 km in length and 120 m in width, with fine golden sand. Its proximity to town gives it a lively international surf atmosphere, with bars, cafés, and surf schools right on the beachfront. Conditions: A classic beach break, mostly right-hand waves, working on all tides but often best at mid-tide. Waves are generally small to medium-sized, making it perfect for beginners and intermediates. With strong Levante (easterly wind) the water becomes choppy, while Poniente (westerly wind) creates cleaner surf. Access & Facilities: Easily accessible from the N-340, with parking and a promenade directly by the beach. Popular entry areas are between the Balneario and the Río Jara protected zone, especially in front of Café del Mar Beach. Highlights: Clear zones for surfers, kiters, and swimmers (regulated in summer). The mix of an urban beach with wide open Atlantic conditions makes Los Lances South a unique spot.
At Los Lances South Beach there are several public parking areas directly behind the promenade. Along Avenida de las Fuerzas Armadas and the side streets you will find plenty of parking spots. In low season parking is usually easy, but during the summer months spaces fill up quickly – so it’s best to arrive early. Most surf schools are based right at the promenade, meaning the walk to the water is very short.
