Description

Platja de Sa Coma, located on Mallorca’s east coast, is a great all-round spot for watersports enthusiasts. The 800 m sandy beach provides wide open space and shallow water, ideal for kitesurfing and wingfoiling during offshore (SE–E) wind days — especially in the off-season when swimmer zones are minimal. The gradual sandy entry and space for setup make it beginner-friendly. SUP riders will enjoy flat early-morning water and small wind swell under onshore breezes. Occasional surfable waves appear during strong easterlies, though more suited to experienced riders. A designated water sports area is marked in summer. Facilities include: showers, toilets, lifeguards, parking, rental stations (SUP/kayak), and waterfront cafés. The nearby Punta de n’Amer nature reserve offers sheltered paddling routes when wind shifts to northerly.

Parking Information

Parking at Platja de Sa Coma is generally easy. The Carrer Cards road runs parallel to the beach and offers several free public parking spots directly behind the promenade — perfect for water sports enthusiasts carrying kites, wings or boards. Early mornings and off-season months provide the best availability. Larger vehicles (vans/campers) can park at the Avinguda de les Savines lot, which is only 2–4 minutes on foot from the beach. Note: During peak summer months, it fills up by 10 AM — arrive early for best access.
