Description

Blouberg Beachfront is one of Cape Town’s most famous kiteboarding spots, attracting riders from all over the world each season. The wide sandy beach provides plenty of space for launching and landing, while the steady southeasterly wind (“Cape Doctor”) from October to March ensures world-class conditions. Wind: Typically 20–35 knots from SE to S, very reliable. Water: Choppy with small to medium waves, breaking further out with shore break. Level: Suitable for beginners due to the wide beach, but also a prime spot for advanced and pro riders (big air, freestyle, wave riding). Highlight: Stunning views of Table Mountain – making it one of the most photographed kiteboarding backdrops worldwide.

Parking Information

At Blouberg Beachfront, there are plenty of public parking spaces directly along Beach Boulevard (M14). These parking areas are right behind the promenade, offering quick access to the beach. Most are paved, with additional spaces available along the roadside. Parking is generally free of charge, but it can get very busy on windy kite days and during peak season. Extra spaces are available near kite schools and restaurants.
